A familiar phrase around the South Langley Basketball Club is, “The next basketball season starts today.”  This was definitely the case last year around this time as we held our first U13 Metro Team tryouts.  The two day tryouts happened last April, and will be happening again this April 23 and 24, with the South Langley coaching staff running the boys through numerous individual and team drills in preparation for the following season.

With Coach Larry Goldsack at the helm, the boys played hard from September to February in the competitive Basketball BC U13 Metro league.  Along the way there were many stand out performances from offensive talents Hakim B and Arjun S, while Liam R led the way on the defensive end.

The 2013/14 season ended with the team from South Langley capturing the first place title.

With that in mind, the next basketball season starts today, with Metro try-outs April 23 and 24.
